Join Our Growth Team as a Senior Front-end Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Front-end Engineer with aspirations to take on a Scrum Master role within our dynamic Growth Team.

About Studyportals
At Studyportals, we are dedicated to transforming the lives of countless students globally, making education accessible and enriching. Every minute, 100 students rely on our platforms to discover their ideal educational paths at no cost.

We also support educational institutions in diversifying their student demographics and minimizing dropout rates. Our team is a vibrant mix of over 200 professionals from forty different nationalities, fostering an environment that values learning and enjoyment.

Your Mission
To expand our impact, we need to enhance our platform's functionality, aiming for significant growth in user engagement and conversion through technical excellence and innovative product strategies.

Key projects include:

  • Developing new landing pages designed for optimal user conversion.
  • Redesigning user account functionalities.
  • Creating tools that assist students in their decision-making processes.
  • Building a robust search and selection engine to help students find their ideal study options.

In essence, you will encounter numerous technical challenges that require your expertise and initiative.

Your Key Objectives
As a Senior Front-end Engineer, your primary goals will be:

  • To create and enhance functionalities that increase visitor numbers and boost student engagement by 30%.
  • To contribute to the scalability of our platform by decoupling dependencies and advancing our microservice architecture while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • To share your expertise with team members and invest in your personal development through our dedicated budget for learning new technologies and methodologies.

Team Structure
The Product Engineering department comprises 35 professionals, and you will be part of a dedicated scrum team of 4. Collaborating closely with the Product Owner, you will play a crucial role in prioritizing product features and functionalities.

Your contributions will directly influence the development process, ensuring that you have a say in both what and how we build. You will report to our Software Development Manager, who is committed to removing obstacles and fostering an environment conducive to your success.

Technology Stack
Our systems are developed in-house, adhering to modern quality standards. We operate within a service-oriented architecture, utilizing our own RESTful API and AWS. Our products are built using VueJS, Node/NPM, TypeScript, and Sass. We are also advancing our infrastructure with Docker and centralized CI/CD tools.

Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • A willingness to embrace the Scrum Master role, with substantial experience in Agile methodologies.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript frameworks (e.g., VueJS, React, or Angular) and modern JavaScript, TypeScript, NPM, and Webpack.
  • Strong skills in HTML5 and CSS3/SCSS.
  • Experience with automated testing within a CI/CD framework.
  • A collaborative mindset, valuing open communication and cross-functional teamwork.
