Senior Team Lead Outfitting Specialist

We invite skilled professionals to contribute to Damen Naval’s success by joining our team as Senior Team Lead Outfitting. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality engineering output for our shipbuilding projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the outfitting engineering team during the basic and detailed engineering phases of shipbuilding projects.
  • Control the detailed engineering of outsourced packages, ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
  • Advise on work breakdown structures and allocate man-hour budgets effectively.
  • Deliver high-quality engineering work on time, meeting project requirements.
  • Supervise engineering team activities within 2D and 3D environments, such as Cadmatic or Catia.
  • Integrate vendor and subcontractor information, perform technical analysis on offers, and support design checks and reviews.
  • Monitor and control man-hours spent and provide progress reports to the Project Manager Engineering.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements and specifications.
  • Contribute to the department’s development by developing and describing standards and working methods.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field combined with at least five years of experience in outfitting systems engineering.
  • Proficiency in 2D and 3D systems, preferably Cadmatic or Catia, with experience in ships or offshore installations.
  • Experience in leading mid-size engineering teams of up to ten people and structuring work packages effectively.
  • Knowledge of class and statutory rules and regulations such as SOLAS, Lloyds Register, and DNV.
  • Experience in working with vendors, subcontractors, and Good Engineering Practices, with a strong focus on quality and budget awareness.
  • Good command of the Dutch, German, and English language both written and verbal.
  • Excellent references and antecedents, as a pre-employment security screening is standard part of the recruitment procedure.
  • Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required.
