Job Description

Stichting Red een Kind is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Programs Coordinator. This position is a key part of our team, responsible for managing disaster response programs and partners in two countries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage disaster response programs and partners in two countries
  • Lead the Dutch Relief Alliance (DRA) consortium in South Sudan, working closely with the lead team, member organizations, and local partner organizations
  • Oversee a budget exceeding 21 million euro (2024-2026) to support people in South Sudan affected by hunger, lack of clean drinking water, and unsafe living conditions
  • Represent Help a Child within the Dutch Relief Alliance in the Netherlands
  • Ensure compliance with financial, programmatic, and monitoring & evaluation requirements
  • Coordinate all projects and programs in one other Help a Child country, working closely with the program team and monitoring progress on a regular basis

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in a relevant field, such as humanitarian aid, development, or international relations
  • At least five years of experience and expertise in managing large-scale, strategically important projects and humanitarian work, preferably in South Sudan
  • Passionate and proactive person motivated to make a difference for children in need
  • Experience in Help a Child's focus areas: Child Protection, Emergency Education, and Food Security & Livelihood
  • Strong networking skills and sensitivity to social and political dynamics within consortia
  • Team player with ability to motivate and coordinate teams
  • Open to frequent travel to South Sudan and other disaster-affected countries (about two or three trips per year)
