Key Responsibilities
As a Continuous Improvement Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Perfetti Performance Excellence (PPE) initiatives across our manufacturing facilities in the Netherlands. Your focus will be on enhancing product efficiency, safety, quality, and productivity while minimizing waste. This position is designed to foster a culture of continuous improvement within the Perfetti van Melle BLX (Benelux) Supply Chain organization, which encompasses Manufacturing, Process & Technology, and Supply Chain operations. You will be instrumental in recommending improvement strategies and leading continuous improvement projects that yield optimized processes, elevated standards, and increased employee satisfaction. The Continuous Improvement team is dedicated to the entire BLX Supply Chain organization, with an initial emphasis on manufacturing. You will report directly to the Continuous Improvement Manager, with activities centered in the southern region of the Netherlands.
Your Core Responsibilities Include:
- Supporting the PPE initiatives for PVM BLX;
- Defining and planning the objectives, scope, and deliverables for the Weert PPE;
- Overseeing the Weert PPE initiatives portfolio, ensuring coordination and prioritization based on the implementation plan, with a strong emphasis on delivery and resource allocation;
- Acting as both project lead and coach/facilitator for improvement teams;
- Building and maintaining robust relationships with key stakeholders and functions;
- Proposing local initiatives by gathering insights from relevant stakeholders in alignment with PPE guidelines;
- Ensuring employee engagement in proactive change management;
- Sharing continuous improvement expertise (TPM, Six Sigma, Lean) and mentoring employees in improvement methodologies;
- Serving as a key resource for the SC BLX in matters of continuous improvement;
- Encouraging bottom-up improvements, fostering creativity on the shop floor, and enhancing manufacturing processes through expert analysis and troubleshooting;
- Collaborating regularly with local BLX leaders to develop and disseminate best practices for process integration and optimization;
- Benchmarking trends and practices, reviewing best practices, and actively gathering input from the SC community;
- Supporting and facilitating relevant training sessions.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial or Process Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain;
- Several years of relevant experience in a manufacturing setting;
- Proficiency in continuous improvement methodologies such as TPM, Six Sigma, or Lean;
- Continuous Improvement certification at the Green-Belt level is preferred;
- Experience in establishing and leading project improvement teams, particularly on the shop floor;
- A results-oriented mindset with a pragmatic approach to achieving objectives;
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with stakeholders at all organizational levels;
- Analytical thinking, problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to influence decision-making;
- An independent, positive influencer who can engage teams effectively;
- Proficiency in Dutch and English, both verbal and written.
