Senior Commissioning Engineer - A Key Role in Mechanical and Process Systems

Assignment Overview

  • The Commissioning System Engineer is responsible for managing and controlling commissioning activities related to mechanical and process systems, including compressors and other rotating equipment.
  • This role involves commissioning preparations and execution within the project for all relevant systems, ensuring a smooth handover to Operation/Plant Integrity.
  • The Commissioning Engineer will also support other disciplines with interfacing commissioning activities and participate in weekly meetings to discuss status, development of strategies, budget, plans/schedules, procedures, routines, ATS requirements, FAT, UFAT, RISK, and work processes for commissioning.
  • Key responsibilities include following up on writing commissioning procedures for dedicated systems, issuing and maintaining commissioning boundary documentation for efficient construction and commissioning schedules, and ensuring that drawings/documents are updated and identified during commissioning.
  • The Commissioning Engineer will be responsible for handover of the facility to Operation by issuing TAC (technical Acceptance Certificate) and RFOC (Ready for Operation Certificates).
  • This role requires close interaction with Project Support, Engineering, Construction, Operation, and Plant Integrity teams.

Requirements

  • Minimum education: Bachelor's degree
  • Required degree: Engineering - Mechanical/Process
  • Special examinations/certificates: Offshore certificate
  • Industry experience: Required
  • Years of work experience: 4 years
  • Experience from oil and gas projects
  • Offshore certificate is required
  • Extensive knowledge of Equinor's governing documentation
  • Fluency in Norwegian (written and verbal)
  • Good knowledge of Procosys and Fusion
  • Well-developed teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to handle responsibility and high workload
  • Ability to drive activities to completion on schedule
  • Excellent communication skills in English
