Senior Contract Manager

About the Role

Fugro is seeking an experienced Senior Contract Manager to support our regional team of Project Managers. In this role, you will strategically manage contracts on projects of high complexity and mentor project teams with the management of contracts of lower complexity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategically manage contracts on projects of high complexity
  • Mentor project teams with the management of contracts of lower complexity
  • Participate in regional strategy development regarding contract management
  • Support project teams in a client-facing role
  • Provide contractual leadership and support to project managers and project teams
  • Identify and efficiently manage contract risks and opportunities
  • Limit project leakage and maximize contractual entitlements
  • Monitor projects for compliance with contractual terms, including contract milestones and invoicing
  • Manage contract commercial risks and opportunities
  • Oversee projects for changes and monitor for leakage events
  • Participate in contract leakage root cause analysis and maintain a contract leakage lessons learnt register
  • Provide support with project procurement contracts, third-party contracts, and project contract flow-down
  • Manage contract disputes, claims, and variation orders in collaboration with project management, business management, and Legal Counsel

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline, e.g., Legal/Contracting, plus demonstratable experience in Project/Commercial/Contract Management
  • Extensive experience with Marine/Civil Engineering, or Ground Investigation Contracting Projects
  • Demonstrated knowledge of contractual terms & conditions, contract law principles, project finance, and accounting
  • Ability to review contract documents, identifying and managing commercial risk and opportunity
  • Previous experience with tender and procurement processes and a strong commercial and business acumen with strategic thinking
  • Strong relationship building skills and are client-focused with excellent ethical conduct
  • Proficient in English (both oral and written) and have excellent professional communication skills and a systematic approach with a competitive attitude
