Senior Electrical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team at Damen Naval, a leading manufacturer of advanced naval vessels. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing complex electrical systems, including large power distribution systems, and experience working in a model-based system engineering environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that our naval vessels meet the highest standards of performance, safety, and reliability. This includes developing functional descriptions, drawings, and other basic engineering documents for power distribution, lighting, and other electrical systems, as well as writing detailed test and validation plans to ensure compliance with Class regulations and customer requirements.
In addition to their technical expertise, the candidate will also need to have excellent communication and collaboration skills, as they will work closely with our multidisciplinary team and external suppliers to ensure the successful delivery of our projects. Key Accountabilities:
- Design and develop complex electrical systems, including large power distribution systems
- Develop and maintain specification documents for electrical components and installation processes
- Write detailed test and validation plans to ensure compliance with Class regulations and customer requirements
- Manage vendors and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of project components
- Review and implement vendor designs in the vessel's design
- Develop and describe standards and working methods for detailed engineering and commissioning
- Provide technical support for proposal stages and commissioning activities
