About the Role

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer - Telecommunications to join our team at 4people. As a key member of our Large Projects Offshore (LPO) team, you will play a crucial role in the development and implementation of our 2GW program, a unique transnational approach to increase the pace and efficiency of the energy transition.

Your Responsibilities

  • You will support senior TelCom Engineers in network telecommunication topics, including the functionality and installation of OT and office IT, broadband data transmission, communication technology, and WAN/LAN infrastructure topologies in grid connection projects of offshore wind farms.
  • You will perform hands-on tasks in the field of offshore ancillary systems, such as VSAT systems, CCTV connection, maritime VHF radio, satellite transmission, PAGA, and telephony.
  • You will be responsible for quality and progress control of our contractors during the construction and installation phase, in accordance with applicable framework and guidelines.
  • You will review technical documentation and compare it with underlying specifications.
  • You will control and manage functional tests and inspections, as well as commissioning activities.
  • You will serve as a contact person for external and internal project/service partners.

Your Profile

  • You hold a university degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or a comparable field.
  • You have an overview knowledge in the fields of network and radio telecommunications.
  • You have practical experience in the use of commercially available communication systems of SDH technology, MPLS systems, and VoIP systems.
  • You have practical experience with IP network components and telecontrol/network control protocols.
  • You are willing to learn, proactive, and have good team skills and flexibility.
  • You have good verbal and written expression skills in Dutch and English.
  • You hold an occupational health qualification for offshore assignments according to the AWMF standard.
  • You are willing to travel and hold a driving license class B.
