Job Title: Research Assistant I/II
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant I/II to join our team at the Centre for Safe Medication Practice and Research, Department of Pharmacology and Pharmacy, HKU. The successful candidate will work on projects related to big data, pharmacoepidemiology, and pharmacoeconomics of medication safety, effectiveness, cost, and preferences in areas including cardiology, mental health, oncology, and infectious diseases.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with a team of researchers on projects related to big data, pharmacoepidemiology, and pharmacoeconomics of medication safety, effectiveness, cost, and preferences in areas including cardiology, mental health, oncology, and infectious diseases.
- Conduct standard statistical analysis of economic and/or epidemiological data and interpret results.
- Manage and analyze large quantitative data sets.
- Assist with qualitative research, prepare and manage submission to IRB.
- Assist in the implementation of research projects in the Hong Kong SAR and across mainland China.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree in Biostatistics, Health Economics, Pharmacy, Computer Science, Public Health, or a related healthcare discipline with at least 1 year of relevant experience.
- A strong background in analysis of large and complex datasets using R, SAS, STATA, NVivo, or other tools, and mixed methods research will have an advantage.
- Have the ability to implement statistical analysis of epidemiological data with correct interpretation of the results.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- A good command of spoken and written English and Chinese.
What We Offer:
The appointment will commence as soon as possible on a 1-year temporary basis or a 2-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered. The appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary. Other benefits include annual leave, medical benefits, and free access to on-campus gyms and libraries.
