About the Role

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking an experienced Operations Engineer II to join our Materials and Structural Analysis Division in Eindhoven. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting the manufacturing of our high-performance microscopy and spectroscopy workflows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing technical support to the factory to ensure timely shipment of high-quality systems to customers
  • Initiating and leading small-sized Operations improvement projects
  • Supporting factory and field service engineers with the first builds, installs, and upgrades of newly introduced systems and modules
  • Solving sophisticated problems and ensuring system specifications are met
  • Crafting and maintaining work instructions and defining factory process flows
  • Performing hands-on assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and training of personnel as required
  • Working closely with suppliers to tackle technical/quality issues and introducing new parts and modules into manufacturing
  • Submitting or implementing engineering changes to improve quality, manufacturability, and costs of components/modules

Requirements

  • Demonstrable minimum experience of 5 years in the field of Engineering, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • A degree in a technical field such as high-precision Engineering and/or Physics is required
  • Mid-level experience in project management and creating related deliverables
  • Ability to cope with the dynamics in a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent English language skills (verbal and in writing), Dutch is a plus
  • Collaborative teammate with a pragmatic approach
