About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Sustainability Expert to join our team at ABN AMRO Bank. As a key member of our Corporate Banking business line, you will play a crucial role in supporting our clients in their transition to sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a subject matter expert on ESG matters within ABN AMRO UK and support the UK Sustainability Regulation Advisor in identifying knowledge development needs within the business.
  • Support the UK Sustainability Regulation Advisor in the execution of the UK sustainability strategy.
  • Work with client and product teams to develop financial products and services in the field of sustainability.
  • Monitor and record best practices globally in the field of sustainability.
  • Develop thought leadership materials.
  • Coordinate all initiatives with Head Office in Amsterdam to leverage existing knowledge and to act as a conduit for sharing sustainability related information, direction and initiatives locally.

About the Team

Our business lines are supported by a number of functions such as Risk, Compliance, Legal, IT, Finance (Including Tax), Business Management and Human Resources. We currently employ approx. 380 people in the UK.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in sustainability, finance, accounting or law.
  • Required skills: a passion for sustainability themes, experience of sustainability-linked and green loan frameworks, good understanding of the ESG regulatory ecosystem, a demonstrable ability to advise on complex and nuanced matters, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, an ability to work with and to manage the expectation of multiple stakeholders, including clients, excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, an ability to work well as part of a team.
  • Preferred skills: a working knowledge of Dutch would be an advantage, credentials (diploma or other qualification) in sustainable finance and/or sustainability regulations.
