Elchemie is seeking a dedicated Electromechanical Maintenance Specialist for a fixed-term contract position within a dynamic food production environment. The ideal candidate will possess a relevant trade or technical qualification, such as a Millwright or Electrician, alongside approximately four years of experience in maintenance roles, particularly within the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector.
To be considered, applicants must be under 28 years of age and have Afrikaans as their first language, as all operational manuals and documentation are in Dutch. A Dutch language course will be provided to facilitate integration.
Compensation: Competitive monthly salary.
Key Qualifications:
- Age not exceeding 28 years
- Afrikaans as a first language (essential for understanding manuals)
- Educational background in electrical engineering or mechatronics
- Proven experience as a technician in a production setting
- Strong electrical engineering knowledge, with mechanical skills as a secondary focus
- Flexibility to work in 3 or 5 shift patterns
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
- Proactive approach with strong analytical and organizational capabilities
Primary Responsibilities:
- Diagnosing and rectifying common malfunctions, with digital documentation of repairs
- Conducting routine maintenance and overhaul tasks
- Identifying and addressing deviations in machinery and installations to avert potential issues
- Providing assistance and guidance to colleagues as needed
- Utilizing creativity and technical insight to enhance production processes
- Recognizing opportunities for improvement in technology and organizational practices
- Implementing identified enhancements effectively.
Work Distribution:
- 45% maintenance tasks
- 35% addressing breakdowns
- 10% modifications
- 10% administrative duties
