Senior Data Modeler / Business Analyst Position

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Data Modeler / Business Analyst to join our Data Management department in Banking. As a Senior Data Modeler / Business Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our credit data model. This position requires a deep understanding of data modelling, business analysis, and the lending/credit domain to enhance our lending operations.

Your Job
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive data models, mapping credit data elements and flows to support lending decisions and regulatory compliance.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand credit data requirements and translate them into tangible data deliveries.

Working Environment

We collaborate a lot and help each other with data challenges, we all are eager to learn and develop ourselves. We work hybrid, team members work at least one day per week from our headquarters in Amsterdam. Our team is responsible for data quality, data distribution and data analytics within our product unit - Financing Solutions. We are there for our clients at key moments in their lives, offering a fully digital banking experience while strengthening personal contact with our clients.

Your Profile

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and analyse credit data requirements, ensuring alignment with lending strategies.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive data models, mapping credit data attributes and flows to support lending decisions and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead the design and optimization of data structures and databases for credit data storage and retrieval.
  • Work closely with Dev Ops engineers to provide requirements for the build of the data platform, implement and validate data models, ensuring data accuracy and availability.
  • Closely collaborate with the product owner and team to translate requirements into Product Backlog Items
  • Create and maintain documentation of data models, data lineage, and metadata for credit data.

Education and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Finance, Econometrics or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred. You will also need to have proven experience in conceptual, logical and physical data modelling and business analysis, particularly within the banking sector and credit data domain. You must be proficient in data modelling tools and techniques, including experience with data modelling software (such as Erwin and Enterprise Architect). You must also have strong SQL skills for querying credit data. Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to credit data is a plus. You must have a general understanding of IT topics (through technical background or job experience).

You must have an analytical mindset to interpret complex credit data. You must have a detail-oriented approach to data modelling and analysis. You must be able to collaborate with cross-functional teams for credit data mapping and improvements. You must be adaptable to evolving credit data requirements and industry changes. You must have ethical judgment and responsibility when handling sensitive credit data. You must be fluent in English, both verbal and written, and open to cultural differences.
