Design and Proposal Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Design and Proposal Engineer to join our team at Damen Shipyards. As a key member of our High Speed Craft department, you will be responsible for developing new standard vessel designs and optimizing our current product portfolio.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and optimize vessel designs to reduce cost and improve quality, reliability, and functionality.
- Collaborate with various departments and external parties to arrive at optimized designs.
- Select the best fitting vessel with necessary equipment based on client criteria and our range of standard designs and options.
- Draft general plans, technical specifications, cost price calculations, and delivery dates within client requests.
- Monitor project progress in the pre-sales phase.
- Support Sales Managers with technical input during customer meetings, including presentations and calculations.
- Provide optimal knowledge transfer when tenders become orders.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Naval Architecture and Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience.
- Driven, ambitious, proactive, and prepared to go the extra mile.
- Team player with excellent communication skills in English and Dutch.
