Software Engineering Internship: Scanning Electron Microscope Simulator

Background Information
At ASML, we're pushing the boundaries of microchip manufacturing technology. To effectively design and automate the SEM behavior, we work on the actual microscope and an SEM simulator - a virtual copy of the machine. The SEM simulator allows developers and users to 'play' through different scenarios, gaining understanding of the SEM workings and streamlining its behavior.
Your Assignment
As a software engineering intern, you'll design and develop the SEM simulator's user interface, ensuring it's intuitive, interactive, and visually appealing. Some of your tasks will include:
- Visualizing the microscope state, including physical parameters, settings, and actuator states;
- Executing scenarios and triggering autonomous protection mechanisms;
- Simulating recovery from faulty conditions;
- Simulating changing SEM settings;
- Maintaining collaboration with the 'SEM physics simulator' team.
Your Profile
To be a great fit for this internship, you should:
- Be enrolled in a bachelor's or master's program in software engineering or physics;
- Have proficiency in Python (C# is a plus);
- Have experience with user experience design;
- Be solution-oriented and have a hands-on approach;
- Have excellent communication skills in English.
