About the role

At Bluewater, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Contracts Engineer to join our contracts team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for managing and administering all main contract activities on projects. Your work will involve collaborating closely with the Project Team and other Bluewater departments to ensure the successful delivery of contracts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in contracting, with a focus on procurement and contract management.

Key responsibilities
  • Manage and administer all related subcontracting activities on various projects in a timely, quality-focused, and budget-driven manner in accordance with the Company Management System (CMS).
  • Contribute to subcontracting strategies and prepare subcontracting strategies in line with project objectives.
  • Lead contracts engineering efforts on larger projects, including the preparation of invitations to tender, evaluation of tender proposals, and final contract award and subsequent contract administration.
  • Evaluate and negotiate commercial and contractual matters, and coordinate the technical evaluation of received tenders.
  • Organize and lead tender clarification meetings, tender board meetings, kick-off meetings, and commercial meetings.
Requirements
  • A strong educational background in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Legal, Commerce, Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Over 8 years of experience in a contracting environment within the construction, engineering, or oil and gas industries, preferably gained internationally.
  • Knowledgeable experience in major re-measurable and lump sum EPC (IC) contracts.
  • A proactive approach to the role and the ability to demonstrate added value at all times.
  • Excellent command of English, both verbally and in writing.
  • The willingness to travel on short-term overseas business trips, as well as longer-term assignments.
