In the Fire and Security Sales division, we are seeking a Solution Development Engineer .

Role Overview

The Solution Development Engineer plays a vital role within the sales support team for the Fire and Security division, reporting directly to the Solution Development Manager. This position involves close collaboration with both the sales and operations teams to create comprehensive proposals and deliver optimal maintenance and service solutions to our clients. You will thrive in a dynamic environment where high-quality and innovative solutions are the norm.

Your responsibilities will include managing the pre-sales engineering process, translating customer requirements into commercial offers that present the most effective service solutions. You will primarily focus on calculating extensive and intricate preventive and corrective maintenance proposals for Fire and Security systems.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will leverage your technical and commercial acumen to devise the best solutions for clients based on existing installations. You will oversee your own processes and are expected to gather all necessary information within specified timelines. Your responsibilities will encompass, but are not limited to:

  • Utilizing estimation tools and methodologies
  • Managing historical data from previous calculations
  • Assessing risks that may influence pricing
  • Validating subcontractor pricing for inclusion in your calculations
  • Collaborating with sales and operations teams to comprehend customer needs
  • Updating pricing databases for materials and hourly rates

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in a comparable role within a technology-focused environment.
  • Preferably, familiarity with Fire Detection and Security Systems.
  • Ability to think conceptually and pragmatically.
  • Self-motivated and capable of leading processes independently.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proactive mindset.
  • Proficiency in Dutch and English.
  • Competence in MS-Word and MS-Excel.
