About the Job

At Universal Electronics, we are revolutionizing the smart home experience with our cutting-edge wireless control solutions. As a Field Application Engineer, you will be a key technical interface between our customers and our engineering organization. Your primary responsibility will be to promote our technologies to customers, understand their application issues, and provide innovative solutions that meet their needs. You will work closely with our sales team to provide information on future needs and trends that will shape our product development roadmap.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and control customer requirements and communication during the initial project phase, ensuring seamless collaboration and effective project delivery.

  • Develop and maintain strong customer and product management relations, adapting to changing customer needs and product requirements throughout each project.

  • Work closely with internal teams to understand cost drivers and manage trade-offs to meet customer price targets, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and value.

  • Collaborate with sales teams to create technical proposals and quotations, showcasing the benefits and value of our wireless control solutions.

  • Develop and specify hardware and software features, industrial design, and other product requirements to meet customer needs and stay ahead of the competition.

Requirements

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and project coordination skills, with the ability to drive progress and ensure deliverables are met.

  • Customer-facing experience and excellent presentation skills, with a strong understanding of systems architecture and embedded solutions.

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience in RF systems, with a strong understanding of Zigbee, WiFi, Bluetooth 4/5, Thread, Matter, and SubGig.

  • Fluency in English and preferably at least one other language, with flexibility to travel up to 25% of the time.

  • Good communicative skills, with a willingness to learn, self-educate, and improve your skillset.

  • Attention to detail, creativity, and a commercial attitude, with the ability to work self-motivated and self-managed.
