Within the Sensors Mechanics group, we are seeking a skilled opto-mechanical design engineer to contribute to the development of sensors that ensure precise positioning of wafer stages in cutting-edge ASML machinery. These sensors must achieve sub-nanometer stability and exceptional accuracy, necessitating a deep understanding of precision engineering, thermal dynamics, material behavior, opto-mechanics, and high-precision manufacturing techniques.
Role Overview
As a key member of our team, you will take ownership of the design process for highly accurate and stable opto-mechanical modules, collaborating closely with a team of experts in a multidisciplinary project environment.
- Assume responsibility for the mechanical design of opto-mechanical systems, working in strong collaboration with various teams, including physics and EDEV, while managing multiple interfaces across projects related to Scanner, Wafer Stage, Level Sensor, Alignment, Reticle Stage, Dose Control, and Optics Life Time.
- Establish project planning and prioritization.
- Contribute to the specification, qualification, and introduction of designs.
- Oversee the implementation and introduction of your design.
- Ensure comprehensive technical product documentation is maintained.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should hold a Master’s degree in mechanical (precision) engineering or a related field, with 2-4 years of relevant experience.
- Proven experience in a design role within a complex technical setting and familiarity with the V-model.
- In-depth knowledge of precision engineering, opto-mechanics, static and dynamic load cases, constraint design, and high-precision alignment.
- Proficient in CAD software (preferably NX) and knowledgeable about PLM systems.
- Familiarity with the ASML D&E Way-of-Working is advantageous.

Position Context
The position reports to the group leader of Sensors Mechanics within the Design Foundation, Sensors & Simulations department of the Mechanical Development cluster.
