Senior Customs Clearance Specialist

JAS Worldwide is a leading international supply chain services company, providing air and ocean freight forwarding, contract logistics, customs brokerage, distribution, and other supply chain management services. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Customs Broker to join our team.
Job Summary:The Senior Customs Broker will be responsible for operational customs clearance duties and procedures, ensuring compliance with import and export regulations. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:- Coordinate customs clearance duties with local authorities and ensure compliance with operational requirements.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of key import and export vertical markets to support business development.
- Manage sub-contractor relationships, including customs agents, clearance, and release services.
- Prepare and file customs documentation, including statements and reports.
- Collaborate with operations partners, customer service, and sales teams to define product offerings and achieve business targets.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Build and maintain relationships with customers and post-landing transportation providers.
- Support sales representatives in gathering information on potential customers and business opportunities.
- Certification as a customs broker with national/local scope or equivalent.
- 2+ years of airfreight product or scope-focused experience in business.
- Knowledge and experience in air and ocean freight operations duties.
- Knowledge of cost control of customs billing.
- English and Portuguese proficiency (written and speaking).
This role is performed in a climate-controlled internal office environment, with occasional travel required to support business needs.
The employee will be required to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers to feel and handle, reach with arms and hands, talk and hear. The employee will frequently be required to stop, kneel, and crouch, lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 25 pounds.
This position requires the employee to work in a fast-paced environment with fluid responsibilities.
