The Role

We are seeking a Technical Specification Engineer to join our team on a temporary basis for 18 months. As a Technical Specification Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing technical specifications for suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with customer and statutory requirements. You will work closely with our purchasing department, suppliers, and internal teams to deliver high-quality engineering output.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain technical specifications for suppliers and subcontractors
  • Perform technical evaluations of quotations from suppliers
  • Ensure compliance with customer and statutory requirements
  • Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to deliver engineering output
  • Acquire and review supplier engineering information and documentation
  • Integrate delivered components and systems into ship design
  • Provide input and updates for the engineering database
  • Perform technical calculations to validate design
  • Compose technical and functional specification documents
  • Verify technical performance of products and systems
  • Offer technical support for commissioning activities
Requirements
  • Bachelor or Master degree in a relevant field
  • At least three years of experience in mechanical or marine engineering
  • Experience with mechanical systems, preferably in ships, offshore, or industrial installations
  • Ability to work with and manage third-party vendors and subcontractors
  • Good command of the Dutch and English language
  • Excellent references and antecedents
  • Permanent EU citizenship and passport
