Enterprise Architect Back Office

Your main responsibilities will include:




  • Developing a comprehensive Back Office Engineering vision based on Coolblue's business objectives
  • Initiating, organizing, and supervising the implementation of strategic software engineering projects to achieve that vision
  • Exploring new technologies, partnerships, languages, or opportunities to enhance scalability, speed of delivery, or reduce maintenance costs
  • Advising and leading Principal Developers, Development teams, Product Owners, Domain Bosses, Head of Development Roadmaps, and the CEO on software architecture and engineering matters
  • Challenging development roadmaps and guiding buy vs build decisions to ensure the right tools are used for the right job and software is built effectively
  • Hiring Principal Developers, allocating them to assignments, challenging their architectural choices, and providing input for their yearly assessments


As an Enterprise Architect Back Office, you'll be part of the Software Engineering Board, which steers and decides upon domain-overarching Software Engineering projects. You'll represent Back Office Engineering, creating proposals for new initiatives, reporting on planning and performance, and bringing your expertise to the table on overarching topics.



To succeed in this role, you'll need:




  • A Master's Degree
  • Several years of experience in Enterprise architecture
  • More than 10 years of work experience in Back Office Agile Software Development
  • Technical expertise and strong analytical skills, with a clear vision of Back Office software architecture and technology usage
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills to connect and lead the Development community and management
  • Loads of autonomous drive and ownership, project management skills, and problem-solving skills to organize strategic projects and get them done
  • Autonomous drive to keep up with the latest developments in your field of expertise
