About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Automation Engineer to join our team at SWIFT, the world's leading provider of secure financial messaging services. As a Cloud Automation Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping the future of cloud infrastructure and ensuring the secure, compliant, and scalable deployment of cloud resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Implement Cloud Resources

Define and implement secure, compliant, and scalable cloud resources using Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform and CloudFormation.

Make Cloud Products Available

Make cloud products available for self-service via Infrastructure-as-Code.

Collaborate with Teams

Collaborate with other teams to craft and deploy infrastructure and app deployment pipelines, as well as DevOps tools.

Standardize and Automate Onboarding

Standardize and automate the onboarding process for app teams into the Landing Zone.

Assist App Teams

Assist app teams in crafting secure and scalable infrastructure using approved cloud products.

Enable and Support DevOps Teams

Enable and support app DevOps teams from onboarding to launch.

Deploy and Manage Central Services

Deploy and manage central services such as networking using DevOps and Infrastructure-as-Code.

Manage Landing Zone Components

Manage and evolve Landing Zone components to provide scalable governance, including Service Control Policies, Permission Sets, Security Controls, and Landing Zone add-ons.

Solve Complex Issues

Solve a range of issues across various services and functional areas.

Build Operational Tools

Build and maintain operational tools for deployment, monitoring, and analysis of AWS infrastructure and central services.

Implement Automation for Cost Management

Implement automation for cost management, analysis, and reporting.

Requirements
  • University Degree

University degree in computer science or a related field.

Cloud Infrastructure Experience

Minimum of 5 years of experience in cloud infrastructure deployment and automation.

Infrastructure-as-Code Skills

Demonstrable skills in building and maintaining infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Ansible.

Programming Language Skills

Extensive experience in building automation using programming languages such as Python, Java, or.

Git and CI/CD Skills

Proficiency with Git/BitBucket for code management and Jenkins or other CI/CD platforms for orchestration.

Linux and Networking Skills

Strong knowledge of Linux, including using it as the foundation for automation and coordinating Linux systems.

Networking and Database Skills

Foundational understanding of TCP/IP Networking, IP addressing, and typical protocols.

Load Balancing and PKI Skills

Working knowledge of load balancing, PKI certificates, and both SQL and NoSQL databases.

Problem-Solving and Collaboration Skills

The ability to learn and use a wide variety of open-source technologies and tools.

Proactive and Collaborative Approach

A proactive approach and a sense of ownership, a problem-solving attitude, and a willingness to take on challenging problems.

Collaborative Work Style

Collaborative work within a team as well as dedicated initiative.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Hands-on Experience with AWS

Hands-on experience deploying and handling AWS infrastructure using Terraform or CloudFormation through CI/CD pipelines.

Experience with AWS Services

Experience with deploying foundational AWS services (e.g., VPC, Subnet, Routes, EC2, EKS, ELB, S3, EBS, RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, Cloudwatch, Cloudtrail).

Experience with AWS Security

Experience with AWS IAM, Security Groups, NACLs, KMS, Secret Manager, and SSM.

Good Understanding of Security and Compliance

Good understanding of securing AWS environments and meeting compliance requirements.

Experience with Immutable Infrastructure

Experience in fixing AWS environments.

Experience with Kubernetes and Docker

Knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker and experience managing Kubernetes environments is advantageous.

Familiarity with AWS Landing Zone

Familiarity with AWS Landing Zone and underlying technology.

Experience with AWS Security Tools

Experience with AWS security tools (Guard Duty, Security Hub, Inspector, Config, Access Analyzer, Macie) is a major advantage.
