Chief Accounting Officer

We are seeking a highly experienced Chief Accounting Officer to join our team in Winschoten, Netherlands. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional to take on a leadership role and drive the accounting function of our subsidiary.

The Chief Accounting Officer will be responsible for leading the accounting team and ensuring the accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and SEC regulations. The successful candidate will have strong technical accounting skills and experience in implementing Sarbanes-Oxley compliance framework.

• Lead the accounting team to achieve timely monthly closes and ensure compliance with internal controls over the accounting process.
• Act as a subject matter expert on relevant local regulations and policies, including working with third-party vendors assisting with statutory filings.
• Ensure proper accounting adjustments are made from local reporting standards to US GAAP and provide adequate support.
• Support the development of financial statements and financial disclosure deliverables to meet US GAAP Financial Reporting Standards and regulatory requirements.

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field.
• At least 6 years of related experience, with 2+ years of supervisory experience.
• Advanced knowledge of general accounting principles, accounting practices, and theories.
• Fluent English language skills, with a preference for bilingual candidates.

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Dutch equivalent (RA).
• Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
• Big 4 public accounting experience or regional equivalent.
• M&A transaction experience, as well as post-deal integration.
• Experience working within and/or implementing Sarbanes-Oxley compliance framework.
• Experience working for an international publicly traded organization.

The estimated salary for this position is €80,000-€110,000 per annum, depending on experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
