Job Title: QA and Compliance Officer

Job Description:

The QA and Compliance Officer will be responsible for ensuring that all food products meet the highest standards of quality and safety. This includes managing the quality management system, conducting routine maintenance, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will also be responsible for tracking the renewal of certificates, maintaining up-to-date quality system documentation, and overseeing the supplier monitoring and approval process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct routine maintenance and ensure compliance with the quality management system
  • Manage the annual audit process to achieve Lamex BV's yearly BRC Agents and Brokers and IFS Broker certificates
  • Track the renewal of certificates and maintain up-to-date quality system documentation
  • Oversee the supplier monitoring and approval process
  • Monitor regulatory changes and implement new requirements
  • Provide support for customer requirements, such as traceability data, quality-related documentation, certifications, and specifications
  • Offer assistance with compliance and manage the product information database or online portal as needed
  • Coordinate packaging and labeling with suppliers and customers to ensure that products meet both customer requirements and the laws and regulations of the destination country
  • Coordinate with laboratories for necessary analyses and sample testing. Assess results and take corrective actions if deviations are found
  • Conduct supplier inspections and internal audits
  • Manage customer complaints and non-conformities
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a food-related field
  • 3-5 years of experience within the food industry, with a focus on labeling and a strong affinity for food products
  • Strong understanding of food safety protocols. Proficient in food business-related regulations especially for European and Middle East regions
  • Excel at navigating complex regulatory landscapes and adapting to evolving standards such as RSPO, RTRS, Animal welfare requirements, Sedex/SMETA, and ESG
  • Knowledge of HACCP, BRC/IFS requirements
  • Responsible and analytical, with a systematic approach and strong attention to detail
  • Diplomatic and discreet, yet decisive when action is required
  • Proactive team player with excellent follow-up skills and the ability to manage tasks under pressure
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Fluent in English and Dutch or fluent English and German
  • Willing to travel for work and accompany the director on client visits, average once every 1 to 2 months
