Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cost Management Lead to join our team at SBM Offshore. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing all cost control activities on a project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coach cost engineers and cost controllers allocated to project team
  • Set-out and coordinate the cost activities on the project, including CASH planning, POC forecasting and manpower plans
  • Present monthly project financial forecast
  • Responsible for the timely and accurate issue of the monthly cost report
  • Assist and advise the Project (Controls) Manager on cost issues
  • Identify and advise on (contractual) opportunities and risks
  • Coordinate between relevant disciplines and/or departments for the project
  • Assist in evaluation and subsequent preparation of change orders, financial disputes and claim settlements
  • Contribute to good communication and team spirit
  • Analyse contract after handover and prepare financial Project Summary
  • Ensure that project taxation is properly handled in conjunction with Tax Counsel
  • Prepare specific monthly reports at client or partner request
  • Verify purchase requisitions (budgets, amounts and codes) before approval by Project Manager
  • Issue NBVs and PBVs as necessary, in close cooperation with Project Control Manager
  • Prepare project finalization. Provisions to be followed until project closing in accounting
  • Prepare audit files for the semester review

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
  • Experience: Significant experience in cost management, project cost control, or a similar role, with some time spent in a leadership position
  • Leadership with hands-on mentality
  • Training and Coaching skills
  • Accurate, analytical, independent and pro active
  • Communication skills (listening, persuasive, presenting verbal, written)
  • Analytical skills – analyze financial data and interpret results effectively
  • Data Analysis tools such Power BI (as a nice to have)
  • Excel skills – proficient in advanced functions
  • Teamwork – Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Adaptability – Flexibility to adapt to changing work environment and priorities
  • Fluent In English
