The Senior Credit Manager, Europe, plays a pivotal role in supporting LYB businesses and managing Credit Teams in Rotterdam and Poznan. This position drives company growth by developing the team and managing credit risk. The Senior Credit Manager, Europe, creates value by supporting sales growth while managing financial risk and ensuring compliance with credit guidelines. Conducting financial and risk analysis, the Senior Credit Manager, Europe, determines appropriate risk levels and recommends actions to limit credit risk exposure. As the internal focal point for credit-related matters, the Senior Credit Manager, Europe, advises on improving customers' risk/return profiles and participates in global credit teams.

  • Support various LYB businesses and manage Credit Teams in Rotterdam and Poznan.
  • Drive company growth by managing additional activities, developing the team, and nurturing identified talents.
  • Approve and manage credit risk for the accounts receivable portfolio.
  • Create value for the company by supporting sales growth while managing financial risk.
  • Monitor product sales activities and credit line utilization to ensure compliance with credit guidelines, maximize profitability, and minimize bad debt losses.
  • Conduct financial and risk analysis, utilizing available credit information sources to determine appropriate risk levels for the assigned portfolio.
  • Analyze the business unit's customer base for profitability and strategic value, assessing growth opportunities in collaboration with the sales organization.
  • Recommend actions to limit credit risk exposure and enhance overall profitability.
  • Serve as the internal focal point for all credit-related matters, advising the business on improving customers' risk/return profiles.
  • Visit key customers as necessary to discuss finance-related matters with their senior management.
  • Communicate risks associated with customers and suppliers to all levels of Business, Sales, and Supply Chain.
  • Act as the primary contact for Customers, Sales, Business, HR, Legal, and Supply Chain in Europe and the BIT region.
  • Participate in global credit teams as needed to support credit processes.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Understand risks associated with an international customer base through detailed financial analysis, trade references, and customer performance, determining manageable risk levels for the company.
  • Maintain continuous dialogue with Marketing, Sales, Order Fulfillment, and Senior Management regarding risk and profitability issues associated with customers.
  • Assist and support Business, Sales, and other departments on a consulting basis regarding risk evaluation and profitability enhancement.
  • Negotiate settlements with customers on potential bad debt.
  • Maintain knowledge of and recommend technical improvements to systems and processes.
  • Review, maintain, and recommend/implement changes to credit policies and procedures as necessary.
  • Manage and develop the Credit team to support business activities in the assigned region.
  • Supervise and continuously train a team of Credit Analysts to ensure proper risk management and business opportunity exploitation.

This is what you bring

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, or finance, with a minimum of five years of business experience or equivalent. Commercial Credit experience is desirable. MBA/CFA is a plus.
  • Expertise in credit and financial statement analysis, business analysis, and general knowledge of applicable credit law, with strong analytical and interpretative skills.
