Job Overview:

Ultimum is seeking a highly experienced Senior Board Advisor to support the management team and act as a strategic partner for the KCR2 initiative. This is a critical role with a focus on improving national crisis management and coordination through strategic administrative support and planning.

The Senior Board Advisor will be responsible for preparing high-level strategic meetings, long-term programming, and advising on key issues affecting national and regional crisis response efforts. The position will require close collaboration with senior advisors, government agencies, and crisis management partners to ensure the success of KCR2's operational goals.

This is a part-time role (16 hours per week), with an urgent start needed by November 1, 2024. The candidate will work on-site in Zeist alongside a multidisciplinary team of crisis management experts from organizations such as the police, fire departments, defense, and government agencies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as a strategic advisor to the management team and the KCR2 coordinator.
  • Prepare and coordinate administrative meetings, including the KCR2 Client Consultation and Strategic Alignment Meetings.
  • Collaborate with advisors from participating agencies to develop a long-term schedule and programming for KCR2-related meetings.
  • Provide clear and concise annotations and updates on KCR2 matters to the management team.
  • Align various stakeholder interests while ensuring the management team's strategic direction is maintained.
  • Ensure meetings are efficiently prepared, executed, and documented to support informed decision-making within the KCR2 organization.
  • Offer strategic advice to enhance coordination between national and regional crisis partners, making the Netherlands safer during crises.
Requirements:
  • Education: University degree (WO-level), recognized and accredited.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of proven experience as a board advisor in the last 4 years. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in crisis management. Previous work experience in a political context. Fluency in both written and spoken English.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in crisis management within an international context.
  • Knowledge of and experience with KCR2.
  • Experience working within a European context.
  • Previous experience working in government or with the police.

Additional Requirements:
  • A Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG) is mandatory. A positive result is necessary for the candidate to be eligible for the role.
  • The role is project-based and focused on delivering concrete results. Periodic evaluations will be conducted to assess progress, and the assignment will end once results are approved by the client.
