The Role

We are seeking a skilled CAD Engineer to join our Proposals team. As a CAD Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the delivery of tender packages on behalf of Damen Naval. Your responsibilities will include preparing drawings, diagrams, and arrangements to accurately visualize technical designs and ensure compliance with specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed drawings and diagrams to visualize technical designs and ensure compliance with specifications
  • Support in creating graphical representations, including 3D modeling and prototyping
  • Visualize Damen Naval projects for customers through electronic and physical models
  • Identify spatial needs and allocate functions within ship arrangements
  • Perform trade-offs for the optimum arrangement of elements onboard
  • Contribute to the ideal architecture of Damen Naval designs
  • Collaborate with engineering and production departments to ensure smooth design transitions
Requirements
  • Bachelor or Master degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Naval Engineering, or a related field, combined with at least three years of relevant experience
  • Experience in preparing drawings and diagrams within shipbuilding and visualizing ideas through hand sketches/drawing
  • Expertise in various design concepts and practices, including hands-on coordination of the design process
  • Proficiency in CAD tools such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, or Rhino
  • Good command of English and Dutch languages, both written and verbal
  • Excellent references and a clean background check
  • Permanent EU citizenship and passport required
