We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated Tenure Track Assistant Professor to join our team at the University of Amsterdam. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of our research profile in responsible advice-giving systems, publish research results in international peer-reviewed publications, and acquire external funds for research projects.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct cutting-edge research in responsible advice-giving systems and publish research results in international peer-reviewed publications.
- Acquire external funds for research projects from sources such as the Dutch national funding agency NWO, EU funding via Horizon Europe, and public-private partnerships.
- Supervise student research at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- Teach courses within the bachelor and masters programs in AI, with approximately 30% of the position's total time dedicated to teaching.
- Engage in outreach activities.
- PhD in a relevant discipline.
- Strong publication record as evidenced by international peer-reviewed publications.
- Proven ability to obtain research funding.
- Excellent teaching skills and ability to supervise students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English.
- Dutch University Teaching Qualification (UTQ/BKO) or willingness to acquire this within the first two years.
- Willingness to learn Dutch.
- Temporary employment contract for 38 hours per week with a tenure track agreement for the duration of 5 years.
