Job Description

The Import Leader will oversee the processing of air import shipments and related activities in an efficient, cost-effective, and timely manner. This includes reviewing ocean import documentation, preparing entry filing for US Customs Release, and managing operational processes for timely delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead operations team and delegate import activities on a daily basis.
  • Drive product KPI compliance and milestone updates.
  • Support key customer and supplier relationships, resolving concerns and interacting with customer service, operations, and sales personnel.
  • Audit import documentation.
  • Coordinate Customs Release and other government agency releases as required, arranging delivery and invoicing import shipments according to SOP.
  • Facilitate the release of goods from carriers, customs, or governmental agencies following examinations.
Required Skills and Qualifications

This role requires a strong understanding of Customs regulations, tariffs, and interpretations. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to provide exceptional client service. Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, email, and various PC-based software is also essential.

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented with good organizational skills, possessing strong computer skills and the ability to work accurately under pressure. Professional certification may be required in some areas.
