About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled individual with a background in health science related disciplines, bioethics or humanities, to contribute to our academic team. The appointee will be responsible for teaching undergraduate students, developing innovative teaching activities, and designing faculty development/student engagement activities related to medical ethics.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the planning and delivery of the MBBS medical ethics and law curriculum, including face-to-face and/or online teaching.
- Contribute to the continuing development of a cohesive and contextually-relevant framework for medical ethics teaching.
- Develop innovative teaching and learning activities, including the use of educational technologies.
- Assist in constructing assessment tasks and examination questions as necessary.
Requirements
The ideal candidate should possess a master's degree or a doctoral degree with a background in health science related disciplines, bioethics or humanities, and have at least 3 years' post-qualification experience in research and teaching. A solid track record of teaching in bioethics/medical ethics and substantial experience in curriculum development and innovation are essential. Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to engage undergraduate students are also required.
Remuneration Package
The appointee will receive a highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience, which is estimated to be around HKD500,000 - HKD600,000 per annum. In addition to annual leave and medical benefits, the appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
