About the Job
This is a unique opportunity to join the risk engineering team at Everest Re Group, Ltd. as a Senior Property Risk Engineer.
As a Senior Property Risk Engineer, you will be responsible for providing risk engineering services to support underwriting processes and loss control in the property department.
Key responsibilities include conducting risk management services, developing risk improvement recommendations, and managing external risk consulting service providers.
Additionally, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with key brokers and clients, and providing marketing support including materials and presentations.
The ideal candidate will have considerable experience in a similar role as a Risk Engineer within insurance, and a degree in chemical, mechanical engineering or other relevant discipline.
Excellent negotiation skills, judgment and decision-making skills, and commercial attitude are required for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide risk engineering services for Property underwriters in all Everest International offices.
- Support the Everest business by delivering risk assessment and prevention services.
- Be a strong sales asset by supporting prospect client specific sales strategy and activities.
- Conduct risk management services including attendance at client roadshows and meetings.
- Manage external risk Consulting service providers.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key brokers and Clients.
- Develop and maintain service instructions, reference materials, training guides, service tools and standard recommendations.
- Assure the timely delivery of quality work cost-effectively, meeting department performance metrics.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced professional who is able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, and be able to establish and maintain excellent relationships both internally and externally.
Requirements:
- Considerable experience in a similar role as a Risk Engineer within insurance.
- Degree in chemical, mechanical engineering or other relevant discipline.
- Excellent negotiation skills, judgment and decision-making skills, and commercial attitude.
- Strong communication skills, including participating in online and onsite seminars.
- Fluency (both spoken and written) in English, and fluency in other languages (i.e. German or Spanish) would be a plus.
