Position Overview
The Principal Process Engineer leads and controls process engineering activities, performing checks and reviews of data requested by clients for approval. They provide assessments on engineer performance and ensure that engineering work and deliverables are accurate and correct to code, standard, and project specification.
This role may require frequent travel to the US, Europe, and Asia. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Offshore Oil & Gas Industry and be an expert in Topsides Process Engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand project requirements, scope of work, and project schedule.
- Supervise Senior and Junior Process Engineer performance from beginning to end of project.
- Ensure all engineering documents are prepared and developed in accordance with relevant design code, standard, and client's project specification.
- Provide engineering expertise and support or report to Manager of Process to ensure engineering progress meets time line.
- Ensure process and utility systems are optimized, efficient, safe, and environmentally compliant.
Requirements
- At least Bachelor Degree or Master Degree in Petroleum or Chemical Engineering discipline.
- Professional Engineer (PE) or equivalent certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in process engineering in the offshore oil and gas industry.
- Extensive knowledge of process engineering practices, principles, industry codes, and standards - as well as an understanding of scientific methods of problem-solving.
