Role Overview:

We are seeking an Accounting Specialist to join our Finance Division. This position plays a crucial role in managing all accounting functions, ensuring the delivery of precise and high-quality financial reports. You will leverage your extensive accounting expertise to support the Head of Accounting and the team.

As part of the MUFG family, you will engage in financial accounting practices adhering to both Japanese GAAP and IFRS standards across various European offices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute high-quality accounting practices in compliance with JGAAP and IFRS.
  • Independently manage the closing processes and ensure timely reporting.
  • Conduct financial analyses related to JGAAP/IFRS closures.
  • Utilize advanced data analysis tools, such as Power BI, for financial reporting.
  • Oversee specific accounting areas, including fee bookings and tax alignment.
  • Address ad-hoc accounting inquiries and maintain the integrity of the General Ledger.
  • Initiate process improvements and contribute to the implementation of a multi-GAAP Accounting Hub.
  • Mentor junior team members and provide guidance on daily operations.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX regulations and manage audit requests.

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A Master's Degree in Finance or Business Administration.
  • At least 6 years of experience in financial accounting or reporting, preferably within the banking sector.
  • Familiarity with multi-GAAP environments and accounting software.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to professional development.
  • Proficiency in Excel and data visualization techniques.
  • Integrity, accuracy, and a collaborative mindset.
