Job Overview

The Accounts Payable division at Neptune Energy operates as a centralized group of financial professionals responsible for the meticulous handling of supplier invoices. This role involves scanning, coding, and processing invoices within our accounting systems, ensuring compliance at the SAP company code level. The primary objective of the Accounts Payable team is to facilitate timely payments while maintaining high standards of quality and internal controls.

Reporting Structure:

Reports to: Accounting Manager, NL

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the invoicing platform (e.g., xflow) and oversee the entire process.
  • Receive, scan, and initiate workflows for all incoming invoices.
  • Accurately code and verify invoices, collaborating with relevant stakeholders to resolve any discrepancies between purchase orders and invoices.
  • Obtain necessary approvals for all invoices.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and accurately classify and record VAT in accordance with national standards and SAP reporting requirements.
  • Process invoices within the SAP accounting system (X flow).
  • Guarantee timely payments of all invoices.
  • Follow up on pending approvals to ensure payments are made before their due dates.
  • Address any interest charges incurred from late payments.
  • Reconcile vendor accounts.
  • Manage outstanding items effectively.
  • Assist the Procurement team in resolving discrepancies in GR/IR accounts.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • MBO-level qualification in Accounting.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a comparable financial role.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience with SAP transactional processes (MM).
  • Proficient communication skills in both English and Dutch.
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on problem-solving.
  • Comprehensive understanding of general accounting practices.
