Operational Risk Specialist

The Operational Risk Specialist plays a crucial role in protecting the Clearing organization from operational threats, including information security and business continuity challenges. In this position, you will assess the maturity of controls and risk mitigation strategies within the Clearing organization. Your proactive approach will guide the organization in enhancing operational risk management and ensuring the safety and availability of Clearing's processes and IT infrastructure.
As part of your responsibilities, you will collaborate with your team to develop risk plans, conduct risk analyses, provide risk assessments on incidents and changes, perform control testing, and manage risk tools. You will also lead training and evaluation initiatives to promote awareness of operational risks.
Collaborative EnvironmentABN AMRO Clearing operates as a specialized entity within ABN AMRO, holding its own banking license. With a global workforce of approximately 1,000 employees, the organization is largely self-sufficient and plays a vital role in the financial markets, closely monitored by regulators and central banks. ABN AMRO Clearing holds significant market shares across various exchanges worldwide.
In accordance with the AAB 3 Lines of Defence model, the AAC Risk team serves as the second line of defense for Information & Operational Risk, with a global focus and regional presence in Europe, the USA, and Asia-Pacific.
Candidate ProfileThe ideal candidate is a risk management expert with substantial operational risk experience and a solid understanding of information security. You possess strong interpersonal skills and a proactive mindset, demonstrating a keen awareness of risks and exceptional stakeholder management abilities.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent academic qualification
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
- Familiarity with operational risk instruments
- Basic knowledge of Business Continuity Management (BCM) and Information Security standards (NIST FS, ISO 27001/2, ISF Standards of Good Practice, GDPR)
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural team environment (English is the primary language)
