Archivist Assistant Opportunity at OMA

OMA's Rotterdam office is seeking an Archivist Assistant to join their team. As an Archivist Assistant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and organizing the archive and collection of OMA's work.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the archiving of past and current works of OMA
  • Organize and maintain digital and non-digital materials for research and future projects
  • Handle physical models and mock-ups of architecture projects for the archive collection
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure the smooth archiving of architectural materials
  • Perform ad-hoc tasks, such as exhibitions, research, and communication with international art institutions and publications
Requirements:
  • Currently completing a Bachelor or Master degree in art history, architecture history, collection management, museum studies, or other relevant studies
  • High proficiency in MS Office software
  • Fluency in English is a must; any other language is a plus, such as Dutch
  • Experience with digital archiving and/or handling physical models
  • Hands-on approach, accurate, and detail-oriented
  • Driver's License B category
  • EU work permit is preferred
  • Confident in an international and complex environment

The internship is offered for 5 days a week, and the standard duration is 6 months. The intern will receive a monthly stipend. The selected candidate is expected to start as soon as possible. The collection holds around 80% of the work of OMA and Rem Koolhaas from 1975 onwards, with a 1500 m2 space containing a wide variety of materials, including paintings, collages, samples, study and presentation models, and a wide range of paperwork frequently used for research.
