Brand New Day is an online pension bank offering individual pension products, savings accounts, and term deposits. We invest in relatively safe loan portfolios and comply with regulatory standards.

The investment market is competitive, and as a fintech, we compete in the loan markets. Our entrepreneurial approach sets us apart from traditional banks. We prioritize rapid growth and have a can-do attitude, with little tolerance for workplace politics. In ten years, we have built a € 6 billion balance sheet based on 300,000 customers.

Job Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for assessing debt and climate risks in our loan portfolios by applying quantitative skills to maintain and improve credit risk models (PD, LGD, and EAD). You will also develop stress test scenarios for internal and external reporting.
  • You will create the credit risk dashboard, monitor credit risk limits, and report to the credit and climate risk committee.
  • As part of your responsibilities, you will ensure compliance with EBA guidelines. You will participate in projects to improve data quality on our data platform, automate risk reports, and maintain risk policies and procedures.
  • You will work closely with two other financial risk managers, supporting each other and functioning as backups and sparring partners on other risk domains.

Your Skills and Experience

  • You have a drive to understand and analyze debt risks in our loan portfolio.
  • You possess a quantitative background and an understanding of the importance of developing support systems like our data platform.
  • You are proactive and pragmatic in finding solutions.
  • You hold higher education with a quantitative affinity and sound knowledge of credit risk analysis for residential mortgages or SME loans.
  • You have about 5 years of relevant work experience in the financial sector.
  • You possess analytical skills and an eye for detail, as well as effective communication skills, both oral and written.
