OpenShift Cloud Operations Engineer

In this position, you will stay abreast of the latest advancements in Cloud technology, particularly in relation to OpenShift/K's. Your daily responsibilities will include designing, installing, developing, configuring, and maintaining the OpenShift Container platform and associated development services tailored to meet Dabster's operational requirements. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of the OpenShift Platform, managing incidents, problems, requests, changes, and capacity, in accordance with ITIL operational standards. As a member of an Agile team, you will function as a DevOps engineer or Site Reliability Engineer (SRE).
Your understanding of Cloud systems is essential, and you should possess the knowledge and skills necessary to comprehend Cloud solutions. A strong desire for continuous learning and a proactive approach to keeping your expertise aligned with industry standards are vital. You will collaborate closely with colleagues and partners in a relaxed work environment.
Key Responsibilities: Oversee the OpenShift landscape for our clients. Develop and manage operational tasks within a global team, emphasizing automation, reliability, maintainability, security, and customer satisfaction. Utilize CI/CD frameworks to efficiently manage the platform's lifecycle. Provide Level 2 support for incidents, problems, and service requests. Collaborate with various teams, including third-party vendors, to resolve incidents and implement changes. Drive automation and self-healing solutions to minimize manual effort. Address reliability issues and risks by managing error budgets. Create and maintain internal designs and user documentation. Support IT Service Management (ITSM) processes. Required Qualifications: Azure Associate certification or equivalent knowledge. Certification in OpenShift or Kubernetes. For senior roles, a minimum of 5 years of professional experience; for mid-level roles, at least 3 years in DevOps. Proficiency with HELM or Kustomize is essential. Experience with at least one of the following: Ansible, GoLang, or Terraform. A strong focus on security in all tasks. Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and tools (Jenkins, Tekton, GitHub Actions). Knowledge of Customer Operator Build based on GoLang is advantageous. Experience with GitOps principles (ArgoCD, FluxCD) is beneficial. Familiarity with Monitoring and Logging, including setting custom metrics for monitoring. Proficiency with GitHub is mandatory. Understanding of OpenShift patching and upgrading is a plus. Ability to adapt to a dynamic, fast-paced work environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for technical issues. Eagerness to learn and adapt to an ever-evolving landscape. Understanding of Agile development, SCRUM, or SRE concepts is a plus. Willingness to participate in on-call duties. Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team atmosphere. Leadership Responsibilities: Effectively lead and manage a team of OpenShift Cloud DevOps professionals. Provide mentorship and support for team members' professional development. Establish clear performance objectives aligned with organizational goals. Offer technical support, coaching, and preparation for project activities. Guide the team technically, assisting them in advancing their skills. Provide ongoing feedback to foster technical growth within the team.
