Job Title: People Services Advisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced People Services Advisor to join our team at Arcadis. As a key member of our People Function, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality employee relations advisory services to our employees and line managers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide proactive, timely, and high-quality employee relations advisory services to employees and line managers.
  • Support line managers and the People Business Partner community on people matters, including disciplinary, grievance, performance management, and employee relations investigations.
  • Work closely with Centers of Excellence, including Learning and Development, Recruitment, Strategic Workforce Planning, International HR, People Shared Services, Compensation and Benefits, and Payroll, to provide a wide range of People Services to stakeholders.
  • Coach, support, and build capability in line managers to manage the employment relationship effectively.
  • Support the development and maintenance of People Policies and processes.
  • Coach, counsel, and guide managers with regards to People policy queries.
  • Pro-actively monitor absence and leave and support employees and managers to facilitate return to work.
  • Conduct exit interviews and ensure feedback is provided to the business and business partners (where appropriate) with recommendations for associated interventions to improve retention.
  • Support change initiatives, including acquisitions, restructures, redundancies, redeployment, and office closures.
  • Provision and analysis of management information to the business to inform decision making.
  • Share knowledge and best practice with the wider People Services team to build capability.
  • Support key people processes ensuring that they deliver to business needs.
Requirements:
  • Academic degree in human resources or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive human resources experience.
  • Experience with a geographically disbursed business and familiarity working within a People Shared Services & Centers of Excellence model.
  • Demonstrated employee relations experience gained in high volume, transactional environments with disciplinary, grievance, performance management, and sickness absence management cases.
  • Evidence of dealing with complex Employee Relation cases and influencing managers in decisions to mitigate risk to the business.
  • Extensive knowledge of Dutch employment legislation and regulation.
  • Ability to use information, insights, sound judgment, and knowledge in a structured way to identify options, make recommendations, and make robust, commercial decisions.
  • Acts with integrity, impartiality, and independence, balancing personal, organizational, and legal parameters value.
  • Ability to handle sensitive issues and to build relationships at all levels in the business with diplomacy.
  • Demonstrable understanding of how people issues impact the business and how HR can create value for the business.
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment.
  • Ability to translate highly complex employment law information to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to provide both verbal and written information clearly, succinctly, and persuasively, as well as the ability to influence others.
  • Strong organization skills, as well as strong attention to detail, an ability to multitask and see work through to full implementation.
  • Ability to use research methods effectively, including data collection, diagnostic, and analytical skills.
  • Fluent Dutch and English language skills are required.
