In this position, you will collaborate closely with the manufacturing and engineering divisions at Yacht to enhance production processes and equipment. Your primary responsibility will be to spearhead the architectural design of Industry 4.0 solutions developed within our organization. We are seeking a skilled and proactive Azure IoT architect.
Key Responsibilities
- Establishing the Azure Industrial IoT architecture (both hardware and software) based on client requirements, ensuring a comprehensive end-to-end (data) chain that meets all stakeholder expectations, including adherence to enterprise IT architecture standards.
- Providing hands-on implementation support for the proposed architecture in close collaboration with the project team.
- Creating technical solutions and delivering proof-of-concept demonstrations to validate the defined solutions.
- Working in tandem with business consultants and other Yacht divisions to gather and comprehend user requirements.
- Assisting in the decision-making process regarding the make-or-buy options for various components of the solutions.
- Defining design specifications for new complex manufacturing equipment and lines, leveraging insights from personal expertise or relevant specialists.
- Guiding designers to ensure that solutions are executed according to the agreed design specifications.
- Ensuring the development and realization of architectures with a focus on architectural and design decisions.
- Continuously enhancing the technical expertise of dedicated core competencies by maintaining a broad network of specialists, coaching other architects, engaging with peers, sharing best practices within the Architecture Community, and conducting Architecture Assessments as an architect.
Your Team
You will be part of Yacht's Innovation Engineering team, comprising over 1700 technology experts, designers, project managers, and consultants with extensive experience in supporting clients across various sectors, including semiconductor manufacturing and healthcare, as well as highly innovative start-ups. The Mechatronics & Manufacturing Systems team, part of the Product & System Engineering department, assists Yacht businesses in all aspects of mechatronic device and equipment development, alongside Industry 4.0/IIoT solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or master's degree with over 5 years of relevant experience in designing, developing, and sourcing Industrial Internet of Things solutions, particularly with the Azure IoT stack.
- Proven expertise in architecture, design, development, and implementation of applications within an Azure Cloud environment, including IoT edge.
- In-depth knowledge of Industry 4.0 / Smart Factory technologies, with a focus on Industrial IoT.
- Experience in integrating operational technology (OT) with the enterprise IT landscape, demonstrating a hands-on, proactive approach.
- Ability to define value propositions for Industrial IoT solutions, with strong analytical skills and architectural thinking.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), capable of engaging with stakeholders at all levels. Proficiency in English is required; Dutch is preferred. Willingness to travel approximately 25% of the time.
