UDNV Energy Systems is in search of a Product Development Manager to spearhead the Smart Cable Guard Product Development Team and oversee the evolution and upkeep of our Smart Cable Guard hardware and software.
Your primary focus will be on guiding a team of hardware and software experts, while managing the development and enhancement of current products and services to better align with customer expectations.
As a Manager, you will direct the Product Development Team, which includes our Hardware and Software Product Owners, Software Developers, and Test Engineers. Your specialized expertise and leadership will ensure that our products not only fulfill market requirements but also expand the limits of innovation, delivering value to both businesses and consumers.
This position is based in Arnhem, The Netherlands.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a multidisciplinary Product Development team to tackle complex engineering challenges throughout the product lifecycle.
- Provide management, support, and technical guidance to your team, including mentoring and training, while fostering their growth and capabilities.
- Encourage a high-performance culture.
- Align solution architecture with strategic objectives.
- Establish the annual development roadmap (resources, timelines, and budget) in line with the SCG product vision and execute according to the Annual Operating Plan.
- Ensure that the solution architecture aligns with the product vision.
- Balance technical feasibility with user requirements, ensuring that both hardware and software products are functional and user-friendly.
- Oversee the design, prototyping, and testing phases to guarantee that product specifications are met.

To excel in this role, you should possess:
- A Master's degree in Engineering or a related field.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in Product Development for industrial products, involving collaboration between hardware and software processes.
- A solid understanding and experience navigating the various phases of the software development lifecycle.
- Experience with embedded systems.
- The ability to apply strategic thinking and translate it into actionable plans.
- Strong managerial skills and excellent communication abilities, capable of conveying information clearly.
- The capability to address complex technical challenges and guide team members through related issues.
- Proficiency in report writing, ensuring the production of clear and accurate documentation.
