Senior Project Manager

Senior Project Managers at AKQA possess a deep understanding of the opportunities and limitations inherent in each project. They bring comprehensive lifecycle experience from initial scoping to final delivery, adeptly navigating and prioritizing business requirements, resource allocation, timelines, and financial considerations. They take ownership of setting and managing expectations across a diverse range of stakeholders, both internal and external, while consistently ensuring that the products and content delivered align with the established scope, timeline, and budget.

In this role, you will lead and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver impactful narratives through systems, purposeful products, and communications that contribute to a better future. Employing a solution-oriented and entrepreneurial mindset, you will adeptly address changes, ensuring meticulous attention to detail and forward-thinking creativity to exceed client expectations and create positive outcomes for brands, society, and the environment.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Successfully manage multiple concurrent strategic, digital, and communications projects, ensuring high-quality deliverables are achieved on time and within budget;
  • Facilitate scoping sessions with discipline leads to align on resource allocation, scheduling, and project costs;
  • Demonstrate risk and dependency management skills, effectively communicating mitigation strategies and escalating issues as necessary;
  • Produce comprehensive and well-considered statements of work that serve as contractual agreements for your projects;
  • Collaborate with Client Services to oversee client communications, including project updates, timelines, and scope management, keeping stakeholders informed throughout the project lifecycle;
  • Prioritize complex products and programs effectively;
  • Lead daily activities on intricate workstreams on behalf of a highly matrixed client organization;
  • Coordinate with Strategy, Creative, and Product teams to ensure a unified 'One Team' approach to problem-solving;
  • Engage and manage third-party contractors and vendors as needed for project delivery;
  • Monitor project health and performance, managing expenditures and revenue forecasts;
  • Adhere to internal processes and maintain appropriate documentation throughout the project lifecycle;
  • Organize and facilitate both internal and client post-project reviews, sharing insights with relevant stakeholders;
  • Experience in B2B and B2C project management;
  • Proficient in managing Agile/Scrum projects;
  • Familiarity with using Jira for the allocation, prioritization, and management of design tasks;
  • Balance specific client demands with project realities, ensuring timely resolution of all outstanding issues;
  • Adapt and implement a suitable delivery process tailored to client requirements.

QUALITIES AND CHARACTERISTICS

  • Over 5 years of experience managing a multi-disciplinary service delivery function in an agency setting, implementing innovative, interactive, and consumer-focused solutions;
  • Proven experience leading projects such as e-commerce websites, mobile applications, 360-degree campaigns, and activations;
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, including planning, estimating, resource allocation, and external partner management;
  • Previous experience with both Kanban and Agile/Scrum methodologies, including managing sprints, writing user stories, and leading teams;
  • Solution-oriented and energetic mindset, acting as an enabler of innovation and creativity to drive exceptional project outcomes;
  • Autonomous and dependable, capable of meeting deadlines and assisting others in organizing their time and priorities;
  • Systematic, methodical, and pragmatic approach to project management;
  • Excellent communication skills, fostering a work environment that promotes positive thinking and high commitment;
  • Ability to effectively communicate and present to a diverse range of stakeholders;
  • Strong attention to detail;
