Your Role

Are you detail-oriented, analytical, and motivated? This position as a Piping and Machinery Systems Specialist could be the perfect fit for you.

In this role, you will be responsible for the design and optimization of all existing pipeline systems aboard Royal IHC vessels.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing one-line piping diagrams for various systems including cooling water, fuel, bilge, and ballast.
  • Conducting essential calculations such as pressure drop, NPSH, heat balance, and specifying necessary fittings and instrumentation.
  • Determining appropriate pipe diameter and thickness.
  • Managing version control of the package throughout the detailed engineering, construction, and commissioning phases.
  • Processing individual installation instructions from component suppliers.
  • Specifying required components in accordance with construction specifications and industry regulations.
  • Overseeing the procurement of valves, fittings, and instrumentation.

You will also establish technical specifications, evaluate quotes, and collaborate with the purchasing department and Machinery & Piping lead engineers to make informed decisions.

Additionally, the Piping and Machinery Systems Specialist will be tasked with inspections conducted by classification agencies and/or clients.

Your Qualifications:

To qualify for this position, you should possess the following:

  • A (Higher) (HBO) vocational (MBO) education in mechanical engineering (WTB).
  • A minimum of three years of relevant professional experience.
  • Experience in (shipbuilding) engineering is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Cadmatic software is a plus.
  • Experience with Teamcenter and IFS software is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of regulations from classification agencies and international authorities.
  • An understanding of technical advancements in the field.
  • The capability to initiate research and foster technical innovation.
