Thermo Fisher Scientific is a world-leading company in serving science, and we are seeking a highly skilled Module System Architect to join our TEM Solutions Research & Development organization.
Department Overview:
The Module System Architecture group is responsible for defining the architecture and design of modules for our Transmission Electron Microscopes (TEM). Our team works closely with mechanical, electrical, and systems engineers, as well as software engineering counterparts, to develop innovative technologies and solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with the Product System Architect to translate market requirements into concept definitions, design specifications, module architecture, and module design.
- Take ownership of optimizing module-level performance during the initial phase of product development.
- Ensure module performance specifications meet predefined requirements during validation.
- Develop and maintain camera/detector module roadmaps.
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to develop new modules and extend our product portfolio in transmission electron microscopy.
Requirements:
- Typically requires 7+ years of experience with a proven track record of software- and hardware-focused design activities.
- A university degree (MSc or PhD) in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related field is required.
- A background in imaging techniques, particularly camera and imaging pipeline-related, is strongly preferred.
- Trainings such as Design for Six Sigma and experience with bringing modules from requirements phase to market are preferred.
- Excellent skills in inspiring, developing, and motivating are required for interaction with other people.
