Job OverviewWe're seeking an experienced Data Platform Engineering Lead to join our team in Amsterdam. As a key member of our Data Platforms group, you'll drive the evolution of our Data Platform and have a significant impact on Adyen-wide initiatives.
Responsibilities- Lead and manage a team of Data Platform Engineers to build, maintain, and iterate on frameworks and tools that support real-time and batch data ingestion pipelines, ETL lifecycle management, data contracts, code lifecycle management, and more.
- Craft a strong technical and operational strategy and roadmap for evolving Adyen's Data Platform as a whole.
- Work closely with Product Managers to ship successful products on time and operationalize them.
- Mentor, coach, and grow team members into leadership positions if opportunities arise.
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- Experience leading technical teams in high-performance tech environments, including people management.
- The ability to communicate complex outcomes with clarity across various audiences.
- A good understanding of Software Engineering practices, Data Engineering principles, and System Engineering principles.
- Extensive knowledge in areas such as DevOps pipelines, container orchestration (Kubernetes), Hadoop ecosystem, distributed compute frameworks (Spark), workflow tooling (Airflow), and Data Engineering ecosystems.
- An experimental mindset with a launch-fast-and-iterate mentality.
