Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Senior Data Scientist to join our Operations Analytics and Data Science team at Albert Heijn. As a key member of our team, you will design, build, and deploy data science and optimization algorithms to enhance logistics operations.



Key Responsibilities


  • Design and Deploy Optimization Algorithms: Develop and implement data-driven solutions to optimize logistics operations, including efficiently grouping store orders and optimizing order picking.
  • Leverage Cloud Platforms: Utilize cloud platforms and CI/CD pipelines to continuously integrate and deploy scalable and robust solutions.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work with cross-functional teams to translate complex data insights into practical solutions that improve overall efficiency.
  • Communicate Complex Ideas: Effectively communicate complex data insights and technical concepts to various audiences, from technical teams to business stakeholders.
  • Work in Multidisciplinary Teams: Collaborate with product teams to tackle real-world logistics challenges and drive business impact.
  • Share Expertise and Coach Others: Share your expertise and coach other team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.


Requirements


  • Master's Degree: A Master's degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience and interest.
  • Logistics Experience: Experience working in logistics or related fields, with a talent for solving complex supply chain puzzles.
  • Operations Research Expertise: A strong understanding of Operations Research and its real-world application to logistics.
  • Pragmatic Problem-Solving: A pragmatic, hands-on approach to problem-solving with a focus on getting things done.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python and the Python data science ecosystem, experience with modern software development practices, and knowledge of cloud platforms.
  • Additional Requirements: 5+ years of relevant experience, experience with systems programming languages (such as C++ or Rust), and knowledge of a systems programming language (such as C++ or Rust).
