Where will you be working?

Our Business Unit, Energy Transition, is active in the field of energy transitions, aiming to improve the quality of life for current and future generations. They accelerate clients' projects, bringing about transitions from initiation to execution. They contribute to transitions in raw materials, water, and energy systems in urban areas, industry, transmission, distribution, and production.

What will you do?

As a T&D (Senior) Project Manager, you will help Transmission & Distribution companies in the Netherlands and abroad with their network expansions and reinforcements. You will work in a team with various disciplines, bringing together process and technical experience to accelerate projects. You will be driven to make an impact and realize projects, connecting your technical experience to other fields.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project client liaison and internal coordination from initial contact through project delivery
  • Defining, contributing, and/or delivering of Transmission & Distribution (T&D) projects throughout the project lifecycle
  • Challenging, proposing, agreeing, and implementing alternative solutions compared to those dictated by T&D specifications, policies, processes, and best practices
  • Ensuring risks are proactively identified, assessed, and managed to avoid adverse impacts on the project
  • Identifying and negotiating extra work options and/or possible claims
  • Adequate planning, control, and reporting of projects both internal and external

Requirements:

  • Degree or relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering or Power Engineering (BSc, MSc, or PhD) or relevant T&D expertise built up during the career
  • Experience working as a substation and/or plant Project Manager/(Lead) Engineer to international and/or industry standards
  • Expertise in HV substation primary, control & protection, and/or secondary equipment design deliverables, feasibility studies, reports, programs, and cost estimates
  • Broad knowledge of Transmission & Distribution work field & technologies and familiar with international T&D standards, working methods, and technical software tooling
  • Can demonstrate success in leading projects covering designing and/or delivering engineering safely to budget, time, and quality that meets customer expectations
  • Solid proven project management and supportive tooling experience and familiar with contract, claim management, and legal aspects
  • Proven ability of working with internal and external parties, e.g., equipment suppliers, manufacturers, service providers, professional bodies, and working within a strong international/diverse team-working culture
  • Capable of communicating complex technical or commercial issues to peers or senior managers and stakeholders
  • Experience in writing clear and concise offers, documentation, and reports

Notes:

  • Dutch language (or learning it) is an advantage
  • T&D (Lead) Engineers and/or T&D Consultants who like to grow towards Project Manager are great candidates
  • Candidates with no T&D background but experience in technology and/or infrastructure-driven projects are also invited
  • For the role of Senior Project Manager, at least 10 years of solid experience are asked
  • Working experience with European TSO and/or DSO is most welcome
  • You are pro-active, curious, and of course fun to work with
