Your role at MUFG

As an Accounting Specialist, you will be pivotal in the Finance Division, overseeing all accounting functions to ensure precise and high-quality financial reporting. Your extensive expertise will support the accounting team and the Head of Accounting, covering financial accounting under Japanese GAAP and IFRS across various EU locations.

You will independently manage accounting challenges, ensuring timely reporting and contributing to the development of effective procedures. Your focus will be on minimizing manual processes and enhancing automation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute high-quality accounting practices.
  • Manage JGAAP/IFRS closing and reporting tasks independently.
  • Conduct financial analysis related to JGAAP/IFRS closures.
  • Utilize advanced data analysis tools, such as Power BI, for financial assessments.
  • Oversee specific accounting areas, including fee bookings and tax alignment.
  • Address ad-hoc accounting inquiries and maintain the integrity of the General Ledger.
  • Drive process improvements and system enhancements.
  • Mentor junior team members in their professional development.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX regulations.
  • Manage internal and external audit requests.

Qualifications

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • A Master's Degree in Finance or Business Administration.
  • At least 6 years of experience in financial accounting or reporting, preferably in the banking sector.
  • Experience with multi-GAAP environments and accounting systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • A proactive approach to delivering accounting solutions and supporting team development.
  • Proficiency in data visualization and Excel.
  • Integrity, accuracy, and a collaborative spirit.
